Toy Story is the charming story about the secret life of toys when their children aren’t around. These endearing films remind us that change is inevitable. As Woody said, “To be alive is to be in a constant state of change.” As parents, Toy Story reminds us that we need to embrace change raise successful children. These films celebrate individuality, imagination, and dreams! It’s no surprise that Toy Story is beloved by many. We so enjoyed creating this Toy Story movie night and hope you will find a recipe or two to try for your next Toy Story party or family movie night.
We were inspired by details from the film – the cloud wallpaper from Andy’s room, his beloved toys, and details from the characters. We dressed the table in a simple light blue tablecloth and a DIY felt cloud table runner to mirror the decor of Andy’s room.
We chose simple white square dinnerware and disposable red handled flatware from Tableluxe. Our napkins were traditional red bandanas knotted in the middle that were inspired by the western theme of Woody, Jessie, and Bullseye. A small Toy Story figurine was placed on each plate. The figurines were a very easy yet fun touch!
The toys and desserts inspired by them were the stars of the show. We showcased them as our centerpiece. A tiered dessert stand housed Andy’s PB & J cupcakes, Jessie’s at cookies, and Forky krispy treats. Woody’s peanut butter cake pops were displayed in a red tin bucket and Mr. Potato Head presided over the table. The colors were vibrant and details were so fun for the guests
Our menu was inspired by our favorite Toy Story characters. The treats are all simple to create and so much fun to serve. Get our recipes below.
This recipe is the easiest ever and is so fun to serve! It only requires a blender, lemonade, ice, and food coloring. Because the blended lemonade has a slushy consistency it’s easy to layer. In honor of Buzz we used green and blue, but any color combination is fun. We also served this drink on our Luca Disney dinner. Get our layered lemonade recipe here.
Pizza is not only delicious, it’s fun to make and serve. This pizza resembles the Green Alien from the film with two horns, an antenna, and three eyes. We used pineapple rings and black olives to create the eyes and dotted the pizza with star shaped Canadian bacon. Our homemade pizza crust is so easy to make and is a treat! Get the recipe here.
Mr. Potato Head is the best and definitely deserves a place of honor on this movie night buffet! It doesn’t get any easier or tastier than crisp potato chips. They’re the perfect movie night treat!
These fruit creations are so quick and easy to make and your guests will love them! Grab some grapes, Granny Smith apples, strawberries, and a few candy eyes and let your imagination soar! Get our easy tutorial here.
We created some PB & J cloud cupcakes in honor of Andy. These vanilla cupcakes have a peanut butter buttercream and grape jelly centers and are topped with blue buttercream and little marshmallow clouds. They’re perfect with a glass of cold milk! Get our recipe here.
Forky is such a fun character! These Krispie treats are an easy and quick no-bake treat that your guests will love. All you need is a batch of Krispie treats, an egg shaped cookie cutter, and some frosting & decorations. Get our quick and easy recipe here.
Yee-haw! Giddy-up partner! These cake pops inspired by Woody have a creamy peanut butter center and are enveloped in a sweet yellow candy coating. The red icing design reminds us of Woody’s plaid shirt. Get our easy cake pop recipe here.
Pink cotton candy with blue candy canes seemed like a perfect way to include Bo in our movie night. The fluffy cotton candy reminded us of Bos sheep and was so fun to snack on. We grabbed the cotton candy at Target and picked up these perfect blue “shepherd’s hook” candy canes on Amazon.
We loved this cute cookie recipe from Disney Family. Sugar cookie rounds are topped with red royal icing and a red gumdrop. White royal icing decorations look like the stitching on Jessie’s hat. These were so easy to create and fun to serve!
