ThisTiki Room fruit board is full of tropical fruits with a few hidden Mickeys here and there. This beautiful and delicious spread of luscious fruits will take your taste buds on a tropical adventure! This fruit board was served on our Disney Adventureland party.
The Tiki Room is a Disney Parks classic and one of our family’s favorites. Create a feast for the eyes and palette using your favorite tropical fruits. We used Mickey cookie cutters to create mini hidden Mickeys and Minnies throughout the board. Guest will have fun spying {and eating} them!
Shopping List:
- Pineapple, cut in half
- Papaya, cut into quarters
- Watermelon, sliced with rind
- Mango, cut into a flower shape {see tutorial video here}
- Strawberries, whole and halved
- Kiwi, halved {you can cut it with a straight or zigzag design}
- Oranges, halved {you can cut it with a straight or zigzag design}
- Clementines, halved {you can cut it with a straight or zigzag design}
- Green grapes
- Dragon fruit, sliced with peel on
- Mickey cookie cutters
Instructions:
- Cut a pineapple in half lengthwise and hollow out the center to create a bowl. Trim out the woody section of the flesh and cube the remaining flesh. Arrange cubes in the pineapple bowl and place it in the top center of the board.
2. Arrange slices of watermelon in a fan design in the top left hand corner of the board as well as below the pineapple.
3. Add a large slice of papaya in the bottom left hand corner of the board.
4. Fill empty spaces with strawberries, kiwi, and grapes and slices of dragon fruit slices as well.
5. Arrange one orange half and two clementine halves to create hidden Mickey.
6. Using a Mickey cookie cutter, cut out two shapes from Dragon fruit. Arrange over the pineapple bowl. Cut out a small bow from a slice of strawberry to create a Minnie.
7. Using a cookie cutter, cut out as many small Mickeys from strawberry slices as you like to add to your board.
