Mickey Mummie Krispie Treats
Makes 8
Ingredients
- 1 – 10 oz package of marshmallows
- 1 tablespoon butter
- 6 cups Rice Krispies
- 8 cake pop sticks
- White candy melts
- Light green food coloring
- 16 brown M & Ms
- Light green fondant, rolled to ¼” thick
Instructions
- Melt marshmallows and butter in a large microwave safe bowl. Stir melted mixture to combine. Gradually add Rice Krispies 1 cup at a time, stirring after each addition.
- Generously butter a 9” x 13” baking pan. Turn Rice Krispie mixture out into pan. Coat your fingers with butter and press mixture evenly. Set aside and allow to harden.
- Prepare work surface with waxed paper. Turn Rice Krispie treats onto waxed paper. Using a Mickey cookie cutter, cut out eight Mickey shapes.
- Melt ¼ cup candy melts according to package directions. Dip the end of a cake pop stick into candy melts. Place the cake pop stick into each Mickey. Repeat with all treats. Allow to harden in the refrigerator.
- While pops harden in the refrigerator, melt more candy melts according to package instructions. Pour into a shallow baking pan. Carefully dip the front side of each Mickey pop in the melts. Set the undipped side on waxed paper and allow to harden. Repeat with all pops.
- With remaining white candy melts, add a tiny bit of light green food coloring. Stir to combine thoroughly. Add green candy melt mixture to a sandwich size Ziploc bag. Carefully snip a small bit off the corner to create a pastry bag. Pipe green stripes across the front surface of each Mickey pop to resemble strips of cloth. Add two brown M & Ms to each pop for eyes.
7. Make green fondant bows using ¾“ wide strips of fondant folded into a bow shape. Cut a small length of fondant and add to the center of each bow wrapping the ends around to the back side. Add a bow to half of the Mickey Krispie treats.
