Mickey & Minnie Donuts

Makes 12 Donuts

Ingredients:

• 1 package red candy melts
• 12 mini chocolate covered donuts
• White candy pearls
• 12 yellow M & Ms candies
• Holly sprinkles
• 24 black candy melt wafers
• Red fondant

Instructions:

1. Prepare work area – Line a cookie sheet with waxed paper. Organize black candy melts, candy pearls, M & Ms and holly sprinkles in small bowls. Melt red candy melts according to package directions.
   

2. Decorate donuts – Dip one mini donut halfway into red candy melts to cover the bottom half of the donut. Place on waxed paper. Place 5-6 candy pearls (Minnie) or 2 M & Ms (Mickey) on top of wet red candy melts. Add two holly leaves and 3 tiny red berries to the top right hand edge of the red area. Repeat with other donuts.

3. Add ears – Using a paring knife, cut small slits into the tops of donuts where the ears should go. Add a small amount of melted candy melts to the edge of each black candy melt wafer where it will be inserted into the donut. Gently place into the slit. Place on waxed paper and allow to dry completely.

4. Add bows – For the Minnie donuts, create small bows from red fondant. Cut a small ½” x 1” rectangle. Next cut a ⅜” square fondant piece and place in the center of the bow. Squeeze the center slightly to create a bow shape. Use melted red candy coating to adhere a bow to the top of each Minnie donut.
