Entertain with Magic
These Maleficent cake pops have rich chocolate centers, crisp candy coating, and fondant horns. Get our easy no-bake recipe to make them for your next party. We served these on our Sleeping Beauty Disney dinner but they would be perfect for a Disney Villains party too.
Ingredients:
Instructions:
1. Make cake pops – Crumble cupcakes into a medium mixing bowl. Add frosting and stir to combine. Roll 1 tablespoon of moist cake mixture into a ball. Place balls on a parchment lined baking sheet. Refrigerate until firm. Re-roll the chilled balls to smooth out, if needed.
2. Combine black and purple candy melts to create a deep purple shade. Reserve some black candy melts for the base of the cake pops. Melt the candy coating using a double boiler or microwave. Dip a cake pop stick about 1/2 inch into the coating, then insert into the center of the cake ball. Place back in refrigerator and allow to harden.
3. Dip the cake pops – Pour purple candy coating into juice glass making sure the candy coating is at least 3-inches deep. After thoroughly chilled, dip the cake ball into the coating until it is completely covered. Allow excess coating to drip off. Allow to dry completely.
4. Dip the cake pop bases – Melt the black candy melts using a double boiler or microwave. Pour into a bowl about an inch deep. Dip the base of the cake pop in the coating to cover the bottom third of the cake pop. While still wet, decorate with sprinkles.
5. Add decorations – Form horns using black fondant. Set aside. Using some candy melts, adhere the roses on the cake pops near the cake pop stick. Next adhere the horns to the cake pop tops with warm candy melts.
