Liberty Square is one of our favorite areas of Magic Kingdom. To celebrate Walt Disney World’s 50th anniversary, we’ve created dinners for each land featuring eats & treats inspired by their unique attractions and theming.
Liberty Square is one of the themed lands located in Walt Disney World’s Magic Kingdom. It is based on colonial America and boasts replicas of the Liberty Bell and Liberty Tree.
Liberty Square includes the very popular Haunted Mansion as well as the Liberty Bell Riverboat and Hall of Presidents which features an animatronic historical presentation and an impressive collection of presidential artifacts. Liberty Square is also home to the very popular Sleepy Hollow as well as Liberty Tree Tavern and Columbia Harbor House.
Liberty Square is delightfully quaint and filled with colonial American charm. We designed a tablescape with touches of Americana and vintage details.
We dressed the table in a beautiful cream and blue cotton linen damask tablecloth. The edges were trimmed in a heavy vintage lace. We purchased the tablecloth on Amazon. It offered a elegant vintage feel and tied all the decor together beautifully.
We chose to add a blue and white table runner down the center of the table. It reminds me vintage flour sack fabric.
We displayed a centerpiece of a vintage wooden tray that held four antique blue glass Ball jars filled with hydrangeas from our garden and American flags. Our tray and jars are vintage, but you can purchase new glue glass Ball jars here. We like this similar tray and purchased used these mini American flags for our centerpiece.
When visiting Liberty Square you might notice lanterns in the upper windows of the shops. “Paul Revere’s Ride” by Henry Longfellow features the line “One if by land, and two, if by sea” which refers to the lantern signal that would alert colonists to the advance of British forces. We added a quaint lantern and small pewter pitcher in honor of the colonial details found throughout Liberty Square.
We enjoyed the place settings for this dinner. We featured a beautiful set of blue and white floral melamine salad plates that we centered atop a white dinner plate and silver scalloped charger. These beautiful plates are each different in design and are absolutely charming. The chargers look like a similar colonial style pewter design but are quite affordable and made of plastic. We added a blue and white cotton striped napkin, a glass pint jar mug, and traditional flatware.
Liberty Square is known for its delicious American cuisine. We curated a menu inspired by the attractions and ambiance of this charming area of Magic Kingdom. Get all the recipes below to create a Liberty Square Disney dinner.
This Apple Cranberry Mickey cooler is refreshing and filled with all the best fall flavors! It is garnished with apple ears and an edible cranberry Mickey swizzle stick!
To make this delicious drink start with chilled apple cider and cranberry juice and top with ginger beer. Finish the drink with an edible Mickey cranberry swizzle stick and some apple Mickey ears. Get our recipe here.
Columbia Harbor House is known for its delicious New England fare so we included a bowl of steaming clam chowder on our menu. We grabbed our favorite chowder from the deli and served it with fresh Mickey shaped cornbread.
We love this buttermilk cornbread recipe from Martha Stewart. When making the cornbread, line your pan with parchment. It makes lifting the cornbread out of the pan easy so you can cut out Mickey shapes with a Mickey cookie cutter.
These buttery Haunted Mansion hand pies are filled with a mushroom, spinach, butternut squash filling and are seasoned with thyme and sage. This recipe would also be perfect for a Haunted Mansion themed dinner. Get our recipe here.
We served the hand pies atop a ghost host salad. The blackberry goat cheese salad is delightfully fresh and flavorful. It’s brimming with plump blackberries, sweet spinach, tangy goat cheese, and savory puff pastry ghosts. Get the recipe here.
The Ooey Gooey Toffee Cake at Liberty Tree Tavern in Magic Kingdom is one of our absolute favorite Disney desserts! It is topped with a generous amount of vanilla ice cream, chocolate & caramel sauces, and toffee pieces!
Disney released their recipe for this fan favorite. We made a few tweaks to the recipe to create a smaller batch and make it Mickey shaped. Get our recipe here.
