Entertain with Magic
Make these Mary Poppins inspired carousel cupcakes for your next party! The light vanilla cake is frosted in lavender buttercream and topped with gold sugar and a gold carousel. These cupcakes were featured on our Mary Poppins Tea.

1. Make buttercream – To prepare frosting, cream butter in a medium bowl using a stand mixer with a paddle attachment or a hand mixer. When light and fluffy, add 3 cups of confectioners sugar and salt bit by bit until fully combined. Add 1 teaspoon of vanilla and 1 tablespoon of cream until completely combined. If buttercream seems too thick, you may add another tablespoon of cream. If it seems runny, you may add more confectioners sugar. Color using Wilton violet gel icing coloring.
2. Decorate cupcakes – Frost cupcakes using a star tip. Sprinkle in gold sanding sugar to create a glittery surface. Add a carousel pick to the top of each cupcakes
