Learn how you can create a magical Beauty & The Beast dinner or movie night. This theme is perfect for Valentine’s Day, date night, a wedding or a bridal shower. We share all the details, delicious recipes, ideas, and shopping links below.
Beauty and the Beast is a French fairy tale written by Gabrielle-Suzanne Barbot de Villeneuve. It was published in 1740 and was later abridged by Jeanne-Marie Leprince de Beaumont into the version most commonly known today. It is a heartfelt story in which true love transforms the beast into a prince and demonstrates that true beauty comes from within.
Walt Disney Pictures released an animated film in 1991 based on Jeanne-Marie Leprince de Beaumont’s version of the fairy tale. A live action version followed in 2017 and became the highest grossing live action musical in history.
We dressed the table in a vintage Battenburg lace table runner. Mounds of red roses arranged in antique crystal goblets adorned the table. Fresh flowers are lovely, but if they aren’t available these real touch roses are beautiful as well. The antique silver candelabras added a touch of classic elegance and vintage stylistic details of the movie.
For our place settings we chose ivory china on gold chargers, Libby Hobstar goblets, and vintage flatware. Red napkins beautifully folded into roses completed the tablescape.
A single rose dropping its delicate petals was featured under a glass cloche on our serving buffet along with a beautifully wrapped stack of vintage books, an antique tea cup & saucer, and lots of romantic candles.
We enjoyed sampling of delicious French cuisine. All the dishes are family friendly and easy to make. Recipes are linked below.

These dark chocolate truffles are divine! They are very easy and only requires a few ingredients including dark chocolate, cream, and optional sprinkles, nuts, or cocoa to roll the balls in. You can get the recipe at Sally’s Baking Addiction.
I have saved my favorite for last! When I was a little girl my mom made cream puffs for special occasions. They are elegant but are surprisingly easy to make. The Profiteroles recipe at Sally’s Baking Addiction is excellent. We filled our profiteroles with vanilla ice cream and topped them with with a warm and rich chocolate ganache. These were utterly amazing!
