Entertain with Magic
Add some magic to your tablescape with these adorable DIY Mickey Mouse placemats. They are quick, easy, and don’t require any sewing.
These adorable place mats will be the star of your table! They are quick and easy to make and such a cute addition to your Disney-themed tablescape.
To create the placemats you will need an 18 x 18-inch piece of heavy black felt per place mat. I purchased ½ yard of 72” wide black felt to create four placemats.
2. Lay out the felt flat and trace the pattern using a white sewing pencil.
3. Cut out each place mat using sewing shears.
4. Add decorative stitching ½-inch from the edge if you like. You may add a running stitch by hand using a needle and white thread, or you may use a basting stitch on your sewing machine.
I chose to use my sewing machine to add a decorative stitch ½” from the edge of the place mats. I think it adds cute detail to the mats.
For this project I purchased ½ yard of 72-inch wide black felt at Joann Fabrics for $3. The project took me approximately 30 minutes.
