Lady & The Tramp is one of our family’s favorites! It’s also a perfect Disney dinner theme for Valentine’s Day. Learn how to create a romantic Lady & The Tramp dinner at home with our recipes, free printables, and resources. Add some music and candles and it’s sure to be a bella notte!
Lady & The Tramp is a romantic tale of an uptown Cocker Spaniel named Lady and a street-wise mutt named Tramp. The movie was set during the Victorian era and was released in 1955.
Did you know that Lady was based on Disney animator and writer Joe Grant’s own Cocker Spaniel named Lady? The setting of the movie was inspired by Walt Disney’s own hometown of Marceline, Missouri. Lady & The Tramp was also Disney’s first movie filmed in the cinemascope wide-screen process.
A live action version was released in 2019. Our family finds both versions delightful and we had a great time creating a Lady & The Tramp movie night.
To create an ambiance of Tony’s Restaurant, we dressed the table in a white table cloth and red and white gingham topper.
Simple white dishes with red details, red handled flatware, basic drinking goblets, and red napkins folded into bows sat atop our DIY bone placemats. You can find our bow napkin folding tutorials here.
We kept our table simple by using our favorite Tableluxe partyware. Square white & red plates, red-handled flatware, stemless flutes, and mini appetizer serving pieces paired perfectly with the theme and made entertaining so simple.
Red roses are a classic! Our centerpiece featured a dozen roses arranged in a vintage glass jar along with a “Bella Notte” wine bottle candle holder and jar of breadsticks. We created a custom wine label to match the theme of our dinner and added it to an empty wine bottle. You can download the free printable here to create your own “Belle Notte” wine bottle candle holder.
Our meal was inspired by Lady & The Tramp’s romantic dinner at Tony’s Restaurant. Get the full menu and recipes below.
Italian soda is such a sweet and festive drink for guests of all ages. This recipe is hands-down the easiest recipe I have ever seen – sparkling water, strawberry syrup, whipped cream, and sprinkles. It’s so easy and such a treat!
This Valentine’s themed antipasto board is filled with Italian meats & cheeses, fresh fruits, baguette and bread sticks. There’s something tasty for everyone! Get our tutorial for creating a delicious antipasto board here.
Caesar salad is a classic and is always a nice pairing with pasta. The salad of Romaine lettuce, croutons and Parmesan cheese is simple to assemble and can be made with bottled dressing or your favorite homemade recipe.
These “Bone” breadsticks were adorable and very fun to make. I tend to be a “from scratch” kind of gal, but the kids really enjoyed these and using pre-made breadstick dough is definitely easy. Get the recipe here.
Spaghetti & meatballs is a treat for all ages! Here is a recipe for Lady & The Tramp spaghetti & meatballs from Disney Food Blog. If you’re in a pinch for time you can also grab some frozen meatballs, a jar of marinara, and some boxed spaghetti at your favorite supermarket.
I don’t know about you, but I love going out for dinner and being offered not one, not two, but a whole buffet of miniature desserts to sample! For this dinner we created four sweet treats inspired by the film: Spaghetti & Meatball Cookies, Tiramisu Mousse Cups, Dark Chocolate-Sea Salt Bone Cookies, and Puppy Love Brownie Sundaes!
These cookies are so much fun to make. Inspired by the spaghetti & meatball cupcakes served at Mama Melrose in Hollywood Studios, these cookies are a favorite! All you need are round sugar cookies and royal icing in light yellow and red. The meatball is actually a Ferrero Rocher truffle! Get the recipe from Sugar, Spice, and Glitter.
Tiramisu is a favorite Italian dessert for good reason. It is rich, creamy, decadent, and utterly heavenly! I don’t know about you, but my favorite part is the mousse. Crazy for Crust created this easy recipe that uses just a few simple ingredients and delivers the best part of the dessert: the mousse. Check out their recipe here.
I am a huge chocolate fan and love the combination of sea salt and dark chocolate. We created bone sugar cookies using our favorite sugar cookie recipe. Then we dunked the ends in dark chocolate and sprinkled them with sea salt. The combination of flavors is absolutely divine! Get our sugar cookie recipe here.
We had a lot of fun with these brownie sundaes. Get our tutorial here. These are so sweet and we think your guests will love them!
