Marbled Mickey Cake Pops
Makes 8 Cake Pops
Ingredients:
- 3 vanilla cupcakes
- ⅓ cup vanilla frosting
- Cake pop sticks
- White candy melts
- Lavender candy melts
Instructions:
1. Crumble cupcakes into a medium mixing bowl. Add frosting and stir to combine. Roll 1 tablespoon of moist cake mixture into a ball. Place balls on a parchment lined baking sheet. Refrigerate until firm. Re-roll the chilled balls to smooth out, if needed.
2. Melt the vanilla candy coating according to package directions using a double boiler or microwave. Dip a cake pop stick about 1/2 inch into the coating, then insert into the center of the cake ball. Place back in refrigerator and allow to harden.
3. Melt the lavender candy coating using a double boiler or microwave. Reserve 2 candy melts per cake pop for ears. Place the melted lavender candy coating in a plastic sandwich bag.
4. If necessary, re-warm the vanilla candy melts and pour into a juice glass or mug. Candy coating should be 3-4″ deep. Snip the end off the bag of the melted lavender candy coating and pipe onto the top of the vanilla candy melt in a spiral or grid design.
5. Dip a chilled cake ball into the coating rotating the cake pop as you dip to create a swirly marbled effect. Allow excess coating to drip off. Place the dipped cake pop on a cookie sheet lined with waxed paper to harden.
6. Gently cut the edge of a candy melt to create a flat edge. Using a small amount of melted lavender candy coating as glue, adhere the flat edge of an unmelted lavender candy melt to the cake pop as an ear. Repeat with remaining cake balls.
